I enjoyed Ashe and Peters story right from the get go but the ending was cool. I thought I knew what was going to happen But the author threw just a tad of a curve in there. Very Cool. Thanks Lucy Lyons, I am looking forward to reading more of your books!!!!
It's a good story but Ashe and Peter, while in love.the intense feeling of it just doesn't seem to come through in the story. As a reader I just didn't feel the love.I think there needed to be just a little more build up of how Peter was afraid for Ashe when she was being held captive. A gut-wrenching fear of losing someone he loved so much, the same for Ashe. The story was good and well thought out, it flowed smoothly. There just seems to be more that needs to be added to the characters feelings for each other.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. This was a really great story. It wasn't at all what I expected. I thought it was going to be another romance novel. Not,, it was So much better! I really liked this story, and Whare the author took it. It wasn't about sex which was a nice break lol. Lucy's Novel is so good it wasn't even needed or missed !! At a few points I even found myself chuckling and getting sappy. I want to say more about the book, but anything I say would be a spoiler. So do yourself a favor and read this one !
This story was interesting, it takes place on campus and holds some innocent tutoring too. Ashe and Peter find themselves drawn and in love with each other in what feels like only a short time and the world seems determined to keep them apart. The story was written well and the plot had a good twist or two. I enjoyed reading it as well. I admit I wasn't wowed too much but it was a solid read. The relationship between Ashe and her mother was quite remarkable with the constant fighting, but as they say, the harder you fight with some one, more often than not you care deeply for them.
This is my first read by this author. This is Ashe's story, she is a quiet college student trying to get her degree work finished so she can move on with her life. She finds herself struggling with one of her final courses, her professor introduces her to a grad student named Peter for tutoring. Turns out Peter isn't you average tutor!
The attraction is instant and their love starts to grow. I started this thinking it was going to be a lovely little romance but found myself struggling, to commit myself to the book. I finished with it lacking something, perhaps closure. I am going to give another book a go and see if it was just the one book that couldn't hold my attention.
I was given a free copy of the book in exchange for an unbiased review. I found the book interesting, and entertaining. Ashe Linfield is a college student who is struggling in one of her classes -- mythology. She doesn't understand why anyone would believe in vampires. She meets another student, Peter. He had just transferred in. Peter is asked to tutor Ashe in mythology, and they discover they like each other. But, Peter tries hard to keep his distance. Ashe discovers that her father, who had disappeared about 10 years earlier is in town. And, that he's a vampire, and that Peter is a vampire, as well! This is just too much to take in. Lucy Lyons weaves a good story, and keeps the reader guessing right up to the end. Everyone will enjoy this book. It's a novella, so is able to be read in an afternoon.
When I saw this book, I just had to read it. It looked like it was going to be everything I love in a vampire book!
It starts slow but still had my interest so I kept going, and I was glad I did the book was getting really good. I liked Ashe and I love peter. I was really into it, then it just ends. It falls so short at the end that I wanted to scream. This is my 1st book from this author and I'm not sure since this is book 1 of a series if she was planning on continuing their story and ended it this way so it would not be considered a cliffhanger?! I'm not sure.
The storyline had some great parts, it had all the makings of an amazing book. We had a socially awaked girl who's father left her with no word or reason, and she always holds a bit of resentment toward him for his actions. Ashe needs some help with her grades so her professor gets her a tutor.
and that's when the story starts getting good!
Pete just moved into this town because his family's blood supplier moved here. Pete is told to blend in and act normal, as normal as a pale face, cold touch, no heart beat kid can be in a college town! anyways he is pulled into a room with Ashe and told he will be her new tutor, he knows it going to be a challenge not to show her how much he likes her but he does everything in his power until his sisters and bully of the town get involved. See telling you a great story, a bad end!
